March 14, 2012: New Math (and Cliff Richard)

Nice people keep writing to say that, in fact, the subtitle of this blog is inaccurate.

Apparently, having recently passed my 50th birthday, I am now in my 51st year. Therefore, this blog contains pissy complaints not from my 50th year, but from the one following.

All I know is this: I can’t stop listening to this song:

Thing I Hate Today: Being told, “Have a blessed day!”

  1. Just for the record – you legally turned 50 the on Feb 1st – but that’s old math – get it?

  2. Solid Gold! Awesome.

  3. I’m so glad other nice people told you that so that I didn’t have to. I’m fine with it as long as you KNOW.

  4. This song is an amazing meld of the 1970s crashing into the 1980s, which was a niche (in America anyway) that Cliff seemed so suited to. Btw, I thought Jodie Foster’s rock manager Dad in “Foxes” was Cliff Richard.
